Best 9 Children Book Gifts from Amazon

My Favorite Children's Books from Amazon

I gave in, and decided now until Christmas I am going to link my favorite purchases from Amazon. What qualifications do I have?

A. I pulled the spending report on Amazon, and that alone is a sad, sad, reason I would be considered a Amazon buying pro.
B. I have this amazing ability to have no down time, yet find plenty of time to fall in to the deep dark recesses of Amazon reviews.
C. I am pretty lazy, so if I am willing to link these in a blog post, I must like them!

Here are my favorite book gifts for young kids. These are mostly board books, but these books would be good for baby showers, stockings, Christmas gifts, etc. I'd say the age range would be 0-5. You will notice that the classics didn't make the list. Those are easy to find, so these are unique books that may not be easily heard of.

Hello Ninja

Hello Ninja was my first discovery of N.D. Wilson. These are short rhyming books. This one is about a little ninja and his little quests across town. The illustrations are vibrant and beautiful. It's short so even if they make you read it 10 million times, you don't get annoyed.

Blah Blah Black Sheep

Blah Blah Black Sheep is another N.D. Wilson book that is super cute and has really beautiful illustrations. It is also a rhyming book and a good baby shower gift.

Don't Press the Button

This is not a board book, but it is Lucas's favorite book. It is just a monster and a button, so every time they push the button he changes colors, sizes, etc. I mean what kid listens when you tell them not to touch the button? Super cute.

You're Here for a Reason (Nancy Tillman Collection)

Well if you want a sentimental gift, here it is. You will also probably cry at all of Nancy Tillman's books. This is a great gift as a meaningful memory for a friend or family member. Most people haven't heard of Nancy Tillman so you are unlikely to be buying a duplicate. Her phrases are poetic and short, but pack a beautiful meaning. This would be good for a baby shower, or a rainbow baby, or a person who struggled with fertility, or just someone who is looking for a sweet book.

Wherever You Are: My Love Will Find You

Yea, definitely cried during this one. This is a good one for maybe a child that has lost a loved one (Or for the parent of a child who has). It can be for anyone though. It's a sweet sweet book about how their love can be found anywhere and everywhere even if sometimes it can't be seen. Ok, I'm seriously crying just thinking about it.. soo yea it's a good one.

What's in my Truck?

Back to upbeat and fun books. Lucas was in a flap book phase for a good year. These is a really fun book with flaps. If your child is going through the "truck" phase, this is perfect. This author has several of these books in different themes.

Christmas in the Manger

I always like to give a book and PJ's on Christmas Eve. This is a sweet little book about how the animals in the manger await the arrival of Mary and Joseph. It's a cute one!

100 First Words

I am a big believer in these books ability to increase vocabulary in babies and toddlers. I remember going over this book with Lucas when he was like 16-18 months several times and his language exploded. He was also obsessed with pointing the picture I said. There are plenty of these books to choose from.

I'm  a New Big Brother

Expecting a baby and have a son? I bought this book to read for Lucas when Cali was being born. He really did like it, and he's asked to read it again several times after she was born. It was really cute, and I did think it was a good way to prepare for the new (chaos) err I mean, life change.

Well that's it! I am going to be posting a new set of lists each weekend before Christmas. Are there any topics you want covered? Let me know!

* these links are Amazon affiliate links. That means I do get a little bit of a kickback if someone buys the product. I want to be real if I didn’t like the product I definitely wouldn’t spend time writing a blog about it.
